Terms of Use

DIYLens (“DIYLens”, “we”, “us”) is operated in Nigeria and provides an AI-powered problem-solving assistant and a marketplace connecting users with verified professionals (“Pros”), across the Fix, Study, Health, Money, Tech, Auto, Grow, and Legal modules. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

You must be at least 13 years old to use DIYLens, or 18 to make payments or list services as a Pro. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Anonymous, unregistered use is available for basic snap-and-solve features only.

DIYLens returns AI-generated guidance, not professional advice. It is informational only and is not a substitute for a licensed electrician, plumber, doctor, financial advisor, mechanic, or lawyer. Any fault involving mains electricity, gas, structural elements, brakes, steering, airbags, or any Health, Money, or Legal question is always routed to a STOP verdict or a verified professional handoff rather than step-by-step DIY instructions.

You use any guidance at your own risk. DIYLens and its operators are not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from actions taken based on an AI answer, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

You're responsible for the photos, videos, snaps, community posts, messages, and reviews you submit. You must not upload content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that violates another person's privacy or safety. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms, misuse the Pro Marketplace escrow system, or attempt to defraud other users.

By posting content, you grant DIYLens a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and (where you opt in) feature that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the service. You retain ownership.

Job payments are held in escrow and released to the Pro only after the customer confirms completion or an AI/manual verification passes. If a job is disputed, either party may open a dispute from Order details; our team reviews evidence from both sides and decides whether to release or refund escrow. Pros must hold any credentials their trade legally requires and are independent contractors, not DIYLens employees.

Paid plans (DIYLens Plus/Family), Pro job payments, and ad campaign spend are processed by Flutterwave; DIYLens never stores your card details. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled from Plans & Billing and remain active until the end of the paid period after cancellation. Refunds for marketplace jobs follow the Disputes process; subscription refunds are considered case-by-case — contact Billing support with your receipt reference.

Advertisers submit campaigns for review before they go live and must not advertise prohibited content as described in our Ad Policies. Users may hide or report ads (except first-party DIYLens house ads) at any time; repeated reports are reviewed by our team to protect both user experience and advertiser fairness.

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Data controls. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or pose a safety risk to other users or Pros.

DIYLens is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DIYLens is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts or omissions of independent Pros booked through the marketplace. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute not resolved informally is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.

We may update these Terms as DIYLens evolves. Material changes will be flagged in-app; continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
